Learn what valence electrons are and do some fun activities to create Lewis structures. $8.99 Chemistry Packet – An introduction to the Periodic Table (150 pages) – Learn how the periodic table is organized and find out more about the different groups of the periodic table (Alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, halogens). $6.99 Electricity & Circuits Packet (30+pages) $7.99 Properties of Matter Packet (now close to 100 pages) $2.99 Introduction to Chemistry – Size of Atoms Mini-Unit You can also purchase these packets separately $44.99 Chemistry BUNDLE of 8 The Chemistry BUNDLE includes 1 ) Introduction to Chemistry Activities 2) States of Matter Packet, 3) Properties of Matter Packet, 4) Electricity & Circuits Packet, 5) Chemistry Packet, 6) pH Scale – Acids and Bases Packet (The following two units should be done afterthe Chemistry Unit so that students understand the basics of the periodic table, valence electrons and how to create Bohr diagrams.) 7) Ions & Isotopes Chemistry Unit 8) Organic Chemistry Packet (high school unit which we used both in biology and chemistry) Coming Soon. $27.99 Chemistry BUNDLE of 6 1) Introduction to Chemistry Activities 2) States of Matter Packet, 3) Properties of Matter Packet, 4) Electricity & Circuits Packet, 5) Chemistry Packet 6) pH Scale – Acids and Bases Worksheet Packet Atomic Number, Atomic Mass & Chemical SymbolsĪgain, see more about the Chemistry Packet: The Periodic Table here.hydrogen & the alkali metals, alkaline Earth metals, halogens, noble gases.Bohr Diagrams & Understanding Valence Electrons. Some of the topics we explored in the Chemistry Unit include: Plus, learn about electron configuration and more! (We did this primarily in middle school, but did electron configuration in high school again so it’s now over 100 pages.) 100+ Page Chemistry Packet! Learn about the first twenty elements as well as elements with unusual names. These two new booklets are in our Chemistry Unit – Periodic Table, Valence Electrons, Periods, Groups, Lewis Diagrams and More! I hope your kids find these booklets helpful! You will find the latest updates (the two booklets above) on pages 107 to 134 of the Chemistry Unit Packet. You can also have your kids do research on the internet, but I just love the photos and layout of this book and highly recommend it! Again, this beautiful book can be found here. My daughter is looking at the element & pictures and using this for the facts section of the booklets. The second booklet goes over Elements with Unusual Symbols.Įver been curious what the element tungsten is used for? The two-page spread shows you both a picture of the element as well as items that contain it. It has huge pictures of the elements as well as pictures of items that use this element. We have a beautiful book about the elements by Theodore Gray Elements: A Visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe that we have been using as a reference. The first booklet will help familiarize students with the first 20 elements. Staple or bind them along the left-hand side. Instructions to make the booklet/s: Print these pages out single-sided. (See the example answers of Helium, Carbon and Antimony above.) She also is researching and finding out more about each of these elements (more about that in a sec.) I made these two new booklets to have her practice finding information such as atomic number, atomic mass, the period and group numbers. My youngest daughter, now in 6 th grade, needed some review on how to find the atomic number, atomic weight, group & periods as well as some review of the elements. It has been a year and a-half or so since we first talked in-depth about the periodic table. Learn about the elements of the Periodic Table with these new chemistry booklets! I have added them to our 100+ page Chemistry Packet! I made two new booklets – one on The First 20 Elements and the other on Elements with Unusual Symbols which are now included in the Chemistry Packet: Introduction to the Periodic Table.
